TaxAudit is the nation’s largest tax resolution firm, with more than 30 years’ experience representing customers with care and compassion during IRS and state tax authority audits. In 2020, as the pandemic pushed more people into debt, TaxAudit saw a need for tax debt relief services. Although TaxAudit had the staff and expertise necessary to guide people through this difficult experience, it needed a comprehensive strategy to reach new markets while remaining focused on its core value—helping people in a time of need. The company also needed a better way to capture prospect information to help the sales team.

With an aggressive 60-day project timeline, TaxAudit hired Refactored to help it launch this new service and develop credibility with both prospective customers and Google in an extremely competitive marketplace. We began with industry research to fully understand the tax debt relief customer journey, pains, and needs. Using TaxAudit’s existing branding, Refactored built a new SEO-optimized homepage and service pages that provided a uniform user experience, established trust, and reassured and educated prospects about a difficult subject while capturing leads with HubSpot conversion tools. The project finished on time and on budget, and traffic and conversion rates continue to improve with ongoing SEO work.
In a market saturated with aggressive competitors leaning on fear-based messages and exaggerated promises, TaxAudit told a new story about tax debt relief, with messaging that was upfront and honest about results and pricing. Unique and thoughtful messaging began converting leads immediately after launch. In addition, the addition of HubSpot sales enablement tools helped lay the groundwork for a better way to connect prospective customers with tax professionals.
